Welcome to Hutchison Beach Elementary School! We serve students in grades K through 5. The "Beach School Family" is dedicated to developing a lifelong commitment of learning involving the child, family, school, and community. H. Beach Elementary is a Leader in Me School with Lighthouse Certification. We teach 21 st century leadership and life skills to students and create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Here at Beach, students lead their own learning with skills to assess their needs, set appropriate goals, and carry out action plans. They track their progress toward goals in Leadership Notebooks and share these notebooks with teachers and parents in student-led conferences. Teacher planning and reflection, trusting relationships, and student-led learning combine to create environments for highly engaged learning. Students learn the value and application of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. They learn to identify and utilize their gifts and strengths, they are exposed to authentic leadership opportunities. Additionally, they learn the essential soft skills needed to be effective in college, career, and citizenship! More importantly, they are on track to be engaged learners and responsible leaders in our community. Beach Elementary has also been honored with the Five Star School Award for showing evidence of exemplary community involvement.
